The objective of this physical event is to promote thermoforms collection & recycling and specifically tray to tray circularity. We will also showcase PETCORE EUROPE Thermoforms WG’s initiatives: Tray Circularity Evaluation Platform (TCEP) and Functional Barrier (FB) task Force.

 

The first day of the event will feature presentations from high-level speakers such as: Luis Planas Herrera - Policy Assistant to the Director General for the Environment at European Commission & Ana Agudo - Councillor responsible for Sustainability, Mobility and Security in the city hall of Granada, that will explain their goals & expectations for PET trays. Also, we will have interventions from the major experts in the field of thermoforms, followed by panel discussions with guests from the PET industry: E&ACT, KOR, KP Films, Sulayr, Dow, ​ Corepla and many others. PET (PolyEthylene Terephthalate) is a strong but lightweight form of polyester. It is used to make containers for soft drinks, juices, drinks, water, edible oil, fresh food and dairy as well as household cleaners and other non-food applications. PET bottles and food containers, such as sheets and trays are perfectly recyclable while they help to reduce CO2 emissions and food waste.
