Invitation for the webinar “PET and the Consumer: Building Awareness with Social Media and Communication”

20 May from 2:00 to 6:00 PM CET

Dear all, as you know Petcore is proactively intensifying our communications activity as agreed by the Board as part of our key objectives for 2021. Improved and continuous communication is the cornerstone of our public affairs and advocacy activities. Through previous market research we have learnt that the general level of education of our products amongst policymakers, as well as the public at large, is extremely limited. This undermines our ability to influence the political, policy and legislative frameworks at EU and national level which underpin our development, growth and ultimate success of our industry.

We believe we have a singular opportunity as part of the EU’s circular economy project to underscore our credentials as an entirely recyclable and ecological product. Without more consistent communication, we will continue to struggle to ensure policymakers recognize the unique nature of our product in comparison to other, less ecologically friendly forms of plastic.

In order to ensure you and your colleagues are better versed in the art of communicating the value-added of our products, we have organized a tailored communications webinar. This event will serve as an essential educational tool, providing you with skills to succinctly communicate the value-added benefits of PET. This will not only support our industry-wide policymaker advocacy efforts but will also improve your bottom line, through more articulate and convincing direct client dialogues.

About Petcore Europe

Petcore Europe is the association representing the complete PET value chain in Europe since 1993.

Its mission is to ensure that the entire PET industry is well aligned to enhance its value and sustainable growth, to represent the PET industry before the European institutions and other stakeholders, to ensure that PET is positioned as an outstanding packaging material and recognised as environmentally sound, to support and validate innovative packaging solutions from a recycling perspective, and to work with all interested parties to ensure a continuous increase of PET post-consumer collection and recycling.

PET (PolyEthylene Terephthalate) is a strong but lightweight form of polyester. It is used to make containers for soft drinks, juices, drinks, water, edible oil, fresh food and dairy as well as household cleaners and other non-food applications. PET bottles and food containers, such as sheets and trays are perfectly recyclable while they help to reduce CO2 emissions and food waste.
