French proposal to restrict BPA in food packaging
Wednesday, October 29, 2014 —
If you are covering the legislative developments in France that propose restricting the use of Bisphenol A in food contact packaging please note the following:
No Bisphenol A (BPA) is used in the manufacture of PET. PET (PolyEthylene Terephthalate) is a strong but lightweight form of clear polyester. It is used to make containers for soft drinks, juices, alcoholic drinks, water, edible oils, household cleaners, and other food and non-food applications. PET is completely safe and complies with all International, European and National legal requirements for food contact.
Please refrain from using images of PET Packaging (bottles, jars, food trays etc) in connection with coverage concerning BPA.
If you have any questions regarding this, please don’t hesitate to contact me
